Blues on the Chippewa – August 2-4, 2019

Each year, during the first weekend of August, Durand, Wisconsin’s Memorial Park hosts the Annual Blues on the Chippewa. The 2018 event features two stages with performers August 2-4, 2019.
FREE ADMISSION – However, please feel free to contribute a free will donation of cash or non-perishable food will be appreciated for the Pepin County Food Pantry and other local charities!

Music in the Park – August 28, 2019 6pm-9pm

Enjoy the music of The Whitesidewalls Rock-N-Roll Revue at Durand Memorial Park! If you like rock and roll, doo-wp[ and rockabilly then you owe it to yourself to check out the show, and be sure to bring your best dancing shoes! Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket or their own chairs. The park has well-maintained restroom facilities.
No dogs allowed in the park per City ordinance.

23rd Annual Youth Fishing Contest – July 23-26, 2019

Grab your fishing poles and join us for the 23rd Annual Durand Area Youth Fishing Contest. The contest is FREE for kids ages 5 – 18 years old. The contest begins at daybreak on Tuesday, July 23rd and is open through Friday, July 26th at 9:00 PM.
Anglers and their friends/families are invited to celebrate on Saturday with a FREE picnic at the park with the awards presentation to follow.
Registration forms (& official rules) are available at City Hall, Ryan’s Sport Shop and Bodie’s. All participants must register by no later than 6:00 PM on Friday, July 19th.
We hope to see you on the water!

A Night at the Museum – August 23, 2018 6pm-8:30pm

Please stop by the Old Courthouse Museum & Jail in downtown Durand (315 W Madison St.) August 23rd from 6pm-8:30pm to see the unveiling of the new “Agriculture in Pepin County” exhibit. Scavenger hunts for the kids and refreshments for all. Many other exhibits to tour in the courthouse built in 1874, along with a pristine courtroom and jail. Free admission!

2018 Pepin County Town and Country Dairy Breakfast

Support local agriculture at the Four C Dairy LLC Saturday, June 23 from 7-11am.

Join the community for a pancake breakfast on the farm complete with maple syrup, butter, milk, cheese curds and pudding. Breakfast is free will donation. Ice cream cones and deep fried cheese curds will also be available.

There’s lots of fun for everyone! Activities and entertainment include farm tours, milk drinking and ice cream eating contests, face painting, caricatures, and the Moo Mania ventriloquist and comedy show. There will be plenty of door prizes to win and antique tractors and cars on display.

GoPaint! An Outdoor Painting Event

The annual GoPaint Chippewa Valley Event will be held May 5-11, 2018

GO Paint! Chippewa Valley is our region’s premier plein air paint event. Numerous regional and national artists are drawn to the area to create beautiful works of art based on lovely, local landscapes. Whether you’re just starting your creative journey or have lifelong training, creatives of all ages are welcome! Be a part of the regional arts scene by participating in one or all of the many events. This event recently expanded to include the greater Chippewa Valley, some events may be held in Eau Claire.

Highlights in Pepin County include riding into the Tiffany Wildlife Area on rail motorcars in Durand to paint the scenery this unique landscape along the Chippewa River. (Wednesday, May 9, 2018 – 8 am -1 pm).

Durand Area Garage Sale

The Durand Improvement Group organizes a community garage sale annually at the end of April. This year’s garage sale will be held Friday April 27th from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday April 28 from 8 am to 2 pm. Participants include residents of Durand, Arkansaw, and the surrounding rural area.
